ABOUT
SCHEDULES
1st & 3rd Sundays - Digital Liturgies
Every first and third Sunday, our community meets together by participating in a digital liturgy online. Here you will find all the elements of an "in-person" gathering, but it can be engaged though your fingertips. Head over to our digital liturgy page to check it out!
2nd & 4th Sundays - In-Person Gatherings
Every second and fourth Sunday we gather at 6pm at LiB's Market in Salem, Ohio. Here, our community engages in many elements of worship, typically led by members of the community themselves. These elements might include: scripture readings, conversations, worship, confession, a sermon, spiritual practices, and sacramental activities. Currently meeting online only.
5th Sundays - Community Events
Fifth Sundays happen four times every year. We like to take these opportunities to allow space for fun and friendship. This may take the form of a community dinner, a visit to a baseball game or an art gallery, or an outdoor adventure. These events may happen anytime on a 5th Sunday weekend. For more information on upcoming community events, check out our events page. There is also a shortened digital liturgy for each 5th Sunday. Currently suspended.
GUIDEPOSTS
Guideposts serve as signs that help point us in the right direction. At The Collective we believe that following these five guideposts will help grow us closer to God as a community and walk more deeply in the way of love. Though this list is not exhaustive, we find that keeping these guiding ideas at the forefront of everything we do provides a roadmap to the values and mission God has given us.
Kindom
We believe in the rule and reign of God here on earth and that God's most powerful force is love. God initiates all activity through the family of image bearers, also known as the kindom.
Humility
Within the kindom of God, no one holds all the answers. We seek to learn and gain perspective from one another with pliable hearts and open minds.
Participation
We actively engage in forming ourselves and one another through our liturgies, gatherings, and time spent together to better reflect God's way of love.
Empowerment
God's way of love is best reflected in a multitude of voices and expressions. We desire a creative and open space for people to find their voice through conversations, leading elements of worship, or sharing a collection.
Community
It is no secret that the Christian faith is not meant to be lived alone. It is our hope that everyone would feel embraced and accepted as we participate in the reconciling work of God.
